"I first travelled to Akagera National Park in 201

"I first travelled to Akagera National Park in 2016 to assist with counter insurgent tracker training (anti-poaching) prior to the reintroduction of 18 Eastern Black Rhino from South Africa. The grandeur of the landscape captivated me immediately. So too did the spirit of the Field Ranger core. Their desire for knowledge and commitment to the cause of the National Park was outstanding. During those few weeks we got to know the landscape, and the people who benefit from it, extremely well. From the Papyrus choked lakeshore in the east to the high-lying grassy hills in the west, there was a sense of inspiration."

Trail de Akagera is an alternative way to explore the National Park and one of the continents greatest conservation success stories.

They hug the contours of this inspiring landscape and provide us with suitable paths to walk on. We can't wait to get back to Rwanda. Trail season starts August 2021.
